About us

Hi, I’m Deanna, the Owner and Art Teacher here at Charleville Art Studio. I hold a Bachelor of Primary Education and a Diploma of Design Studies, and I’ve spent over a decade working in the creative industries as a graphic designer, photographer, and commissioned watercolour artist.
I started Charleville Art Studio with a simple belief — that creativity is something we live, not something we wait to be good at. This studio is my space to share that belief, helping people of all ages discover, feel, and express themselves through visual art, no matter where they’re starting from.
Every class here is guided by curiosity and exploration — not perfection. I love watching ideas take shape on the page, seeing students experiment, make mistakes, and find their own creative voice. The learning is driven by you, the students, because I believe art should be personal, meaningful, and fun.
What began as a small community space has grown into a studio that breathes with the energy of everyone who comes through the door. It’s a hub for connection, workshops, quiet moments of making, and even creative mail delivered across the country.
Where we’re heading? That story is still unfolding. My dream is to continue growing in ways that feel true — expanding opportunities for art to reach more people, while staying rooted in authenticity, community, and the joy of creating.
I’m so glad you’re here — and I can’t wait to see what you create.
Studio Purpose
harleville Art Studio exists to nurture creativity as a joyful and meaningful part of everyday life.
We believe art education should be accessible, welcoming and deeply human. Our programs are designed to support creative confidence, critical thinking, problem-solving and self-expression through hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity and experimentation.
Across all age groups, students are supported to develop their own creative voice while building technical skills and artistic understanding.
We are proudly process-focused.
Students are encouraged to document their ideas, experiments and artistic growth through portfolios and visual art journals. Mini Makers and Young Creators build a collection of work throughout each term which is assembled into a portfolio to take home. Emerging Artists and Atelier students maintain an ongoing visual art journal and portfolio throughout the year, creating a valuable record of their learning, discoveries and creative development.
Artworks matter, but the thinking, experimenting and growth behind them matter just as much.
Above all, we hope every student leaves the studio feeling curious, capable and excited to keep creating.
